Policies & Procedures
Policy Statements
A full copy of our policy statements can be found in the policy folder which is kept on the table in the lobby. If you require a copy of any of the policies and procedures please ask a member of staff. All our policies are designed to offer the best possible experience for the children and families in our setting. Our policies and procedures are reviewed on a regular basis and comments or suggestions from parents and carers are always welcome.
Safeguarding Children
We take Safeguarding very seriously at Hardings and have stringent policies and procedures in place. Please click here to view our Safeguarding policy. As part of this, we are also committed to "Safer Recruitment" and follow HCC Safer Staffing procedures. All staff have attended Level 1 Child Protection training.
eSafety
As part of our ongoing commitment to Safeguarding at Hardings, we have a strict eSafety policy and procedures that we follow. The policy can be viewed here
A useful resource for parents to use at home to introduce eSafety awareness is a story called "Digiduck's Big Decision". We have a hard copy of this book in Nursery/Pre-School and a pdf copy can be found here.
Equal Opportunities & British Values
We will ensure that our service is fully inclusive in meeting the needs of all children, particularly those that arise from their ethnic heritage, social and economic background, gender, ability or disability. Our setting is committed to anti-discriminatory practice to promote equality of opportunity and valuing diversity for all children and families. In accordance with DfE requirements we also promote the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
We promote equality and British Values by aiming to:
★ provide a secure and accessible environment in which all our children can flourish and in which all contributions are considered and valued;
★include and value the contribution of all families to our understanding of equality and diversity;
★ provide positive non-stereotyping information about gender roles, diverse ethnic and cultural groups and disabled people;
★ improve our knowledge and understanding of issues of anti-discriminatory practice, promoting equality and valuing diversity;
★ and make inclusion a thread that runs through all of the activities of the setting
Concerns
Policy statement
Our setting believes that children, parents/carers, staff and external agencies are entitled to expect courtesy and prompt, careful attention to their needs and wishes. We welcome suggestions on how to improve our setting and will give prompt and serious attention to any concerns about the running of the setting. We anticipate that most concerns will be resolved quickly by an informal approach to the appropriate member of staff and/or with the setting manager and Co-Owners..
If this does not achieve the desired result, we have a set of procedures for dealing with concerns. We aim to bring any concerns about the running of our setting to a satisfactory conclusion for all of the parties involved.
If you require a full copy of any of the policies and procedures please ask a member of staff.
